The National Apartment Association’s 3rd Annual Student Housing Conference & Exposition is being held in Las Vegas on February 22nd -23rd. As off-campus student housing is continuing to prove itself as a growing market despite the economic recession, the conference seeks to discuss new perspectives and trends that affect students and suppliers alike.
It’s no secret that there is an increasing number of “Echo Boomers” seeking a higher education. Colleges and Universities are scrambling for housing, and off-campus student housing developers are also taking notice of the investment opportunities.
New student housing opportunities exist; so what are these students looking for in housing options? According to a published research report by the National Multi-Housing Council titled "What Do Students Want?” Echo-Boomers not only prefer to live off campus, but they are concerned with things like the layout of their apartment and the inclusion of social spaces such as recreation areas or community rooms.
New student housing-whether on or off campus-needs to address the demands of Echo-Boomers in order to attract and retain residents. At DeLuxe, we have plenty of experience in building on and off campus student housing projects. In 2008, we set an off-campus student housing condo project in just one week. We’ve also built well-received on-campus student housing.
We’ll be attending the NAA’s Student Housing Conference because it not only allows us learn about the latest trends and ideas in the industry, but it also gives us an opportunity to speak with you about the many benefits DeLuxe can bring to your next student housing project. If you’re coming to the show and you’d like to meet with a DeLuxe Student Housing representative, please let us know. See you at the Conference!
